Fourth-Year Interns Receive Coats at 2nd Investiture Ceremony
Updated: Dec 21, 2024
On May 14, 2024, the incoming fourth-year student interns from the Radiologic Technology Department under the School of Nursing and Allied Medical Sciences (SNAMS) celebrated a significant milestone during the 2nd Investiture Ceremony. The event, held at the Peter G. Nepomuceno (PGN) Auditorium, marked an important transition as the students prepared to embark on their clinical education internships.
During the ceremony, the inductees from the Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Technology (BSRT) program walked proudly across the stage to receive their white coats. These coats symbolize the added responsibilities they carry as they advance into the clinical phase of their education. The students pledged to uphold the highest standards of integrity and resilience, embodying transformative education and service throughout their clinical journey.
The investiture ceremony served as a formal acknowledgment of the interns' readiness to take on the challenges of clinical education. This journey is critical to their training, offering them the chance to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world settings and to develop essential skills in radiologic technology.
The very next day, on May 15, 2024, the interns began their first rotation in various affiliated institutions as part of their clinical education internship. This marks a pivotal step in their professional growth, providing hands-on experience that immerses them in a dynamic healthcare environment.
A total of 17 interns were deployed across four partner institutions, where they will work under the guidance of experienced radiologic technologists and training officers.
St. Catherine of Alexandria Foundation and Medical Center (SCAFMC): Five interns were assigned to this institution, mentored by Mr. Darryl James Tolentino, RRT, as the training officer.
Angeles Medical Center, Inc. (AMCI): Four interns were placed under the leadership of Ms. Geraldine Babadilla, RRT, Chief Radiologic Technologist.
St. Raphael Foundation and Medical Center (SRFMC): Four interns were guided by Mr. Elmer Juan, RRT, the institution’s Chief Radiologic Technologist.
GreenCity Medical Center (GMC): Four interns began their duties under the supervision of Ms. Guina Manese, RRT, Chief Radiologic Technologist, and Ms. Jinky Mutuc, RRT, the training officer.
The deployment is more than an academic requirement—it is a transformative experience that enables interns to refine their technical and interpersonal skills. Through real-world clinical scenarios, they will gain proficiency in operating advanced radiologic equipment, implementing radiation safety protocols, and producing diagnostic-quality radiographs, which are crucial for patient care.
The collaboration between Holy Angel University’s BSRT program and its partner institutions ensures that the interns receive high-quality training. Each hospital provides a supportive environment, fostering the interns’ growth under the mentorship of professionals who share their expertise and insights.
The Radiologic Technology Student Society (RTSS) and the entire Holy Angel University BSRT community extend their warmest congratulations to the interns. This significant milestone is a testament to their perseverance and dedication to excellence in radiologic technology.
